But this time . . . at Go Fish.
As my youngest son napped after lunch, my mother and I played cards with my 4 1/2 -year-old and his action figure Batman. We each started with 6 cards and, despite my son insisting that his cards need to be face up on the table, my mom and I didn’t cheat or try to let him win. In fact, I thought it was great that he was playing for Batman, too, since it forced him to pay attention to the game and practice following the rules. We included Batman in our quest for “fish” and once, I even got lucky with a pair – whew, I might actually go out first. But no, when it came to Batman’s turn again? He won!
Oh well, if I must be defeated by a toy, at least it was a superhero.
